Christmas Food Faves

At christmas i eat a lot more than i usually would and i have recently discovered the best yummy treats in the entire world..prepare yourself (unless you like hot chocolate and marshmallow topped chocolate prepare to be extremely underwhelmed)

this hot chocolate is one of the best things ever made, it tastes like reeses cups in a liquid. i can't get enough of it and i've probably been drinking a few too many cups of this a day...it's amazing - you can get it from tesco and I don't actually think it's that expensive.
this chocolate, i have decided, is officially my best friend, i want to take it everywhere and eat it at every moment..ok thats weird, but i absolutley love it and you can get this from tesco too (if you can't already tell i practically live in tesco)

I know there's only two things that i've written about here but their my favourites, and i will soon have to give them up so that I can start my new years resolution (which is to get fit) ...we'll see how long that lasts

merry christmas: 100 years

merry christmas everyone! I hope you're all having a lovely day and enjoying being with your family, and your presents.

this isn't exactly a cheery type post, more of an appreciation post.
As most of you probably know this year has marked 100 years since the first world war, where many brave people lost their lives fighting for this country and other countries too. In November, around the time of the actual day of the 100 years, i visited France and Belgium to see my uncle George and my granddad Joe, who died in the first world war.
i'm writing this to say thank you to them and to all the other men who lost their lives, if they hadn't of gone and fought our lives would be completely different and I'm really grateful.

merry christmas granddad joe and uncle george and to everyone else who fought and are still fighting for us, you will always be remembered...

i hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and hope that everyone remembers the people who are less fortunate and have no family or anyone to share christmas with, or who have no home to be in.
God bless.

* I know this post isn't a very christmassy post so i may post again later on but i really think that this post was relevant and more thoughtful that showing you what gifts I got or posting a photo of a candle...

OH and happy birthday jesus! haha

christmas eve

It's christmas eve! I'm so excited, even though i know (cover your eyes kids) that there's no father christmas with a dozen reindeer trying to fit down my non existent chimney I still feel the exact same about christmas as I used to when I was younger.

I've finished all my wrapping now and i've tidied my room (for once), i've lit 30 candles and i'm finally ready for christmas, on christmas eve i normally watch films with my family or, most years, get the last bits of christmas shopping done but this year i have been super organised and i'm ready!!

I hope you all have a lovely christmas eve and thank you for commenting lovely things on my other posts, it seriously makes me really happy haha!

thing's i'm exciting for in 2015

i was in clintons a few days ago, getting some wrapping paper (extra unneeded detail for you there) and i saw this 2015 diary and i am actually in love with it..is it strange that one of the things i'm most excited for is to use this diary?

here are some things that i'm going excited for in 2015:

-using this 2015 diary
-completing a new years resolution (...hmm sure)
-doing ncs
-going to college and getting my gcse's over with
-making new friends after i have left school

Are you excited for anything in 2015?

favourite winter things

christmas and winter time is one of my favourite times of the year - it's all cosy and lit up, which i really enjoy, obviously candles are a must have at christmas time and i've really been liking  this one from yankee candle called 'snowflake cookie' it smells like something from soap and glory (I can't think of the exact scent but still)

this next thing isn't really christmas related but i have still really been liking cherry lips. i get mine from mr simms, they taste a bit like soap but in a nice way... (don't ask me how) but i still looove them.
I have been loving these slippers from primark as well, they keep my feet so warm (kind of the point of slippers but....) and they are so cute with the little bow on the front and they have fur inside as well. I think they were only about 2/3 pounds which I think is fab

have you got any winter favourites?

Vintage Fayres

recently I visited a few vintage fayres, they were really cute and very vintage..some were a bit too vintage for me - it was like they had gone into their loft and brought down whatever was up there, basically some of it was complete rubbish. There were a few nice things there though!

This was definitely one of my favourite things that were at the fayres. It was a crepe van and it sold crepes with lots of different flavours. I had nutella and mmarshmallowsand I honestly don't think I've ever tasted something as nice..it was amazing and i'm sort of wishing that i wake up one day with a serious crepe making skill just so that i can re create it.

Has anyone else been to any vintage fayres?

mini favourites

it's no where near the end of the month but I really want to talk about a couple of my favourite beauty things recently.

the hand made hand gel by soap and glory is by far my favourite hand gel i've ever had. It smells so nice and clean, and the packaging and the colour of it is so girly and cute so it's not so bad getting it out after you've touched anything at school haha

the barry m gelly high shine nail polish is in mustard and I think it's the perfect shade for autumn and winter, maybe more autumn though.

the boots mango body spray has been a massive hit with a lot of my friends at school probably because it smells AMAZING i know that the scent it obviously mango, but it reminds me of holidays and sun cream and holiday drinks, which is not the mood I should be getting into at the start of winter but it smells so nice that I can't help it

have you got any random favourites?

Zoella: Blissful Mistful Body Mist

I recently bought the Zoella Body Mist from Zoella's new beauty range. I think all of Zoe's products look amazing and so cute! This is the only thing i've bought at the moment because everything else was out of stock.

I LOVE this so much! It's a really light smell and it smells very girly! I think she did an amazing job with the smell because it's not very offensive at all like other sprays so i think lots of people will like it! Well, I defo do so that's something I suppose!

Zoella Blissful Mistful Body Mist - £8, Superdrug
Have you bought anything from the Zoella Beauty Range yet? What's you're favourite?

Lush : Rose Queen Review

This is the bath bomb that came with my rose themed gift box, and it was lovely!
I put it into the water when it was almost done running (which takes a lifetime in my bath because it's massive) and it de-fizzed and it smelt fab! Like roses (duh dais, well done for stating the obvious) when I got in the bath there were little roses in it (which I did at first think were spiders but after further investigation I found that they were cute little flowers) my bath was a beautiful shade of pink!

I had a gorgeous bath with this bath bomb, I smelt like a florist when I got out the bath, which in my head is a good thing, I really liked this bath bomb and I'd definitely get it again!

Lush: Rose Gift Box

I was given a Lush gift box for my birthday and it's called rose, and if you didn't already guess by the name all the products in it are rose themed/scented. I love all the things in the box, I know I do because I have tried them all before... I don't think there's anything in Lush I haven't tried before to be honest. Anyway, These are the things that came in the box.

There are more pictures of what's in the box but I'm going to be doing reviews on them.. If you've read my blog for a while then you'll know that I'm in my element when writing up a Lush review!

Fave Comfort Foods

It's getting into the colder months now (which are by far my favourite of the year) and this is the sort of time when I start eating unhealthier foods.. I don't know why maybe it's the inner squirrel in me coming out??.....

These are my favourite ones at the moment :
They are all quite unhealthy but I don't eat them 24/7 so it's ok... I hope...

Do you have any favourite comfort foods?

Purdey's Rejuvenate Multivitamin Fruit Drink

This.. Is my new favourite drink, it's soooo nice! And seen as i'm trying to be alot healthier this is perfect!
It does taste a little bit like wine I think, so I don't really know why I like it so much I just do! It's fizzy water but with fruit juices basically and it's got vitamin B in it which I am REALLY in need of because I'm a vegetarian, (I do want to become a vegan but my mum and dad won't let me haha) so yeah, I just looove it so I thought i'd tell you about it!

Easy Salted Caramel Macaron Recipe!

Hii,
So today I made salted caramel french macarons and the turned out really well, so I thought I'd share the recipe because it was so delicious!
Ingredients:
To make the actual Macarons: (makes about 20 macarons)
 220g (7.76 ounces) icing sugar
120g (4.23 ounces) ground almonds
120 g (4.23 ounces) egg whites (3-4 medium egg whites)
80g (2.82 ounces) caster sugar

To make the buttercream filling:
Half a teaspoon of salt
Caramel Flavouring (1 Cap full)
140g (5 ounces) Butter, Softened
280g (10 ounces) Icing sugar
1-2 tbsp milk

  • *Preheat oven to 150C, exactly.
  • *Sift together the icing sugar and ground almonds using a sieve. Get rid of  any gritty bits of ground almonds that do not go through the sieve.
  • *Beat together the egg whites and caster sugar on high speed until they are stiff enough that you can turn the bowl upside down without them falling out.  Beat for an additional 2 minutes.  Add the almond icing sugar mixture and fold in using a spatula.  Keep gently folding until the mixture looks like lava, but it can't be runny.
  • *Spoon into a piping bag or food storage bag (Like me) and pipe small circles of mixture onto  baking paper. Slide onto a baking tray and bang on the bench firmly several times on each side.
  • if you are using a food storage bag, spoon the mixture in, push down to a corner and snip of the end of the corner, this will work like a piping bag. This is an easier method than the piping bag because you can just throw it away afterwards!
*Place in the oven (you do not need to leave them to sit on the bench with this recipe) and bake until a foot has formed and the shells are crisp.  This takes roughly 20 minutes. Don't open the oven (as I found out after my first batch) because this will crack them and make them collapse and they'll also be hollow!
  • *Cool and then gently peel off the baking paper and pair similar sized shells.
  • FOR THE BUTTERCREAM FILLING
  • *Mix together the Icing Sugar and Butter until slightly combined.
  • *Then add as much milk as needed to make it combine fully
  • *Add a cap full of the caramal flavouring and mix
  • *Spoon onto one half of the macaroon and sandwich them together
  • These would also be nice as little gifts or something like that, if you put them in a plastic wrapper like me. (I got them from home bargains for 99p!)

There You Go!
Give them a try because they are seriously so yummy!

Candles

So carrying on from yesterdays post, I got quite a few candles! If you've ever smelt the new york next scent you'll understand that I was very excited about this, it's such a lovely smell!

I also got a little house lantern, you put a tea light inside it and it looks like the lights are on in the house which I think is super cute!
Another candle I had was the cotton blossom one, it smells gorgeous and very..clean, (my rubbish describing words have made a come back)
